Wai Leung, Senior Design Engineer
- Position/brief description of role:
Wai is currently a Senior Design Engineer with the Industrial Product Group. She is responsible for designing mechanical and electrical functions of connectors that are used in industrial applications, e.g. commercial-vehicle, marine, agricultural farming equipment, off-road construction equipment, etc.
- Tenure at Molex:
Wai has been with Molex since March 2007 (7.5 years).
- Major Projects/Contributions within Molex:
To date, Wai’s major projects have been the MX150L Industrial Sealed Rectangular Connectors with Blade Terminals, the XRC – Extra Rugged Sealed Circular Connectors with Pin and Socket Terminals, and the MAX-LOC® Plus Shielded Cable Gland.
- What she likes best about working at Molex:
Wai really likes the people that she works with because they are very knowledgeable and very dedicated to their work. She also likes the projects she has been assigned, as they are very challenging and they keep her growing and learning.
- How she’s managed her work/life balance while at Molex:
Molex is a company that stresses a healthy work/life balance. Wai feels that the key to a good work/life balance is knowing yourself and your own limits. She strives to give 100% when she comes to work, as well as 100% to her life outside of work. At work, it is essential for Wai to prioritize daily tasks and work steadily on them until completion. Outside of work, she has learned that taking care of herself (eating right, working out, learning to unplug, being self-reflective, and developing good, quality relationships with people) is also essential.
